Why TTG?
We get asked this question every day. Usually right after a 20-minute pitch in which we have explained why a few times. It took me a few months and a trip to Walt Disney World to understand that no one was asking why they should use TTG as a managed services partner. Intellectually, they already knew. Instead, they were asking if we would be there for them when they needed us. If we understand the best solution for their company or institution. If we kept pace with the constantly changing technology, so they would not have to. Would we keep their—and their clients’—data safe? Would we really do all we said we would?
At Walt Disney World, a certain magic happens each afternoon when the park almost ceases to function. At precisely 3 p.m., Mickey and friends wind their way through the Magic Kingdom during the cleverly named “Three O’clock Parade.” Guests start lining the sidewalks as early as noon for the extravaganza. Disney, being Disney measuring every part of the Guest experience, knows that the No. 1 asked question within the park is, “What time does the Three O’clock Parade begin?” Every year that is the No. 1 question each Cast Member is asked. Except that they have found, it is not the question for the answer they seek. They want to know the best viewing spot or which refreshment stand is closest to the route. Or where they can position themselves to get a background selfie with Mickey. Or, on a hot day, where they can view the parade in the shade. It is never about the time. It is about a million other parts of the parade, but that is the question that starts the discussion about what they need to know.
